"But the country's at war with trolls, are they not?" He frowned.
"Math?" Ryhe tilited his head to the side.

"Uh... I don't know. I'm buried under paperwork. I have the hardest time keeping up private supplies for the guard and the army."
Don't worry about it. Math is just numbers though... working sums.

Burris sighed, "I guess we should hold off till we find out." He smiled lightly.
Ryhe blinked, utterly confused.

"Sounds good. I'll try to stop by your house with some paperwork so that I can help you with reading and math. You'll have to show me where you live though."
Nevermind. If you look any blanker, I might try changing you. She teased him and patted his head with a four taloned hand.

Burris nodded as he walked to John to pick him up, "When we take him back, you can come with us." He picked the young troll up and took him into the tent.
Ryhe chuckled at the patting, "Okay, Moth-UR."

"Perhaps. If I'm not around by the time you head back, Kyre will show me sometime. I think she'll stick around for a while." Lilis replied and picked up Kyre. She sat by the fire again.
Kaie glared dangerously at Ryhe. I'm not your mother.

Burris smiled as he came out, "That'll work."
Ryhe flinched from her, "I know, I know... I'm pretty sure she died when I was young. We witnessed it... I was only joking..." He grew quiet.

LIlis nodded. "Good. Thanks for letting Kyre play with your son. There aren't many who will play with her in the Nether Realms."
My apologies. Kaie said, softening. I have not experienced loss, but I understand it well, through Lilis.

Burris chuckled, "There's no need to thank me. They seem to get along well with each other and both looked like they needed a play mate anyway."
Ryhe nodded and put his hands in his pockets, "It hurts."

"Yes, I do. I don't make a good playmate for her."
Lilis felt like destroying herself once. One of her sons, Ambrose had just tried to kill her, but he failed. That hurt her very much. If he hadn't come around and accepted her... she would have destroyed herself, no doubt. Lilis is very strong.

"Seriously, it was al fate, I suppose." He smirked.
Ryhe nodded, "Sounds like my Fivin."

"If you keep supposing, I suppose we'll get somewhere." She teased him. "Everyone says that things happen for a reason. I just wonder what it's going to do to me."
Who is Fivin? Kaie asked, looking down at him curiously.

Burris chuckled, he just learned the word from Ryhe and he liked trying it out. "Sorry."
"My own son who tried to kill me. It took him less time to accept me, I guess." he smiled.

“For what?” Lilis asked and looked at him.
I see. Ambrose carried a grudge against his mother for hundreds of years. Once he found her, he tried for three months to kill her. Constantine, Lilis’ other surviving son, was able to talk his brother out of destroying her. It took almost a year for Ambrose to confront her again, but on friendlier terms.

He shurgged, "I liked that word and it looks like I overused it."
Ryhe nodded slowly, " I ran out on Fivin's mother before he was born. He was fatherless and raised by a... disturbed mother. From what he told me, she was deemed crazy. When she was killed, he accidentally joined my brother's pirate crew and they collided with me on an adventure. He didn't try to kill me as long a time, but the pain of it was still there."

She rolled her eyes and quirked a brow at him. "I was teasing you."
He could have had it worse. There are some that are orphaned and, sometimes, no one ever comes to take care of them. At least knows, or knew, if he's dead now, that you're his father. He could have been left thinking he had none.

He blinked, "You were?"
Ryhe shook his head, "He still lives, with his wife, kids, grandkids and great grandkids at my old home." He weakly smiled.

"Hard to believe, yes I know." She said with a laugh. "Don't get used to it though. I don't do it often."
Kaie nodded once and looked into the distance. That is good then. Have you talked?

"I'm not going to eat you!" She reassured with a chuckle. "I'll probably threaten you, beat up a little, but I won't eat you."
Oh, you neglected to mention that... but then again, I didn't ask. Smart not to volunteer information. Lilis would be proud.

"It's a motivator. Most people won't break a rule twice if they know they have to deal with me." She laughed evilly. "I have lots of experience in torture."
Kaie laughed and nodded. Yes. Give as little information possible so that you have more surprises on your side. But I'm a surprise even when people know about me.

Burris nodded, noting to not purposely break the rules if she accepted him in a job. He swallowed and weakly smiled.
Ryhe chuckled, "Touche, mi'lady."

"Normally, though, I just take people out on the practice courts and beat them up with practice weapons while humiliating them."
Oh, secrets you're hiding? Kaie asked him teasingly.

Ryhe tilted his head to the side, "Meeebbe."
