“Verse?” Lilis came in and looked for him with a frown. It turned to a scowl when she saw him. She crossed the room and bent over to shake his shoulder. “Are you alright? What’s wrong?”

He opened his eyes and looked back. He smiled, "Oh, hey. Sorry about the command." He sat up and rubbed his face, " Just had a rough night."

"Eh, I've had other, less pleasant, commands before. Are you okay? You look a little pale and there's blood..." She trailed off, waving a hand through the air and making a worried face.

Verse nodded, "Just working on a trap." He stood and picked up his tools, throwing them in a cup of unfinsihed water to clean them.

Her brows snapped together in a frown. "A trap? Are you one hundred percent positive that you're alright? I can't replace you, you know."

"Ja, it's a minor one. well hidden, but minor." He smiled, not wanting to show. He felt that most of the time he was with her, he was wounded or mad, he didn't want to bother her with this either.

She narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously and straightened, folding her arms over her chest. "I'll decide if it's minor. I would like to see it, please." She said nicely. If he didn't want to, well, she'd order him to show her, but she didn't know how well that would work either.

Verse sighed and set his foot on his desk, rolling his pant leg to his high thigh. He showed her the contraption, the barbed wire like band holing curled spiked in his skin to stay on.

"Ew. How'd you manage that?" She asked and gently felt her fingers over the injury and the trap.

"The pirates are getting better. They knew where my hiding place was and one set this trap up there. I managed to get out before I left a trail, but there is a hall in the caslte where my blood is. I've already sent men to clean it up. No big deal." He pulled the cloth over it again.

“Either get a Healer to help you or let me. –“
She’d prefer it if you let her. She doesn’t trust you to other Healers. Kaie told him.
“- Because I need you. You have done awesome work with the spies and… well… you’re doing far better at it than I have.” Her cheeks flushed bright scarlet. She'd wanted to tell him something else, but had found something else to say because she got flustered.

His cheeks went pink to, "Aw... thank you, darlin'. I... I'd be honored t you'd help me... but I feel that I have burdened you enough these past weeks."

"A burden is an idiot who needs a babysitter. You are not an idiot and I'm not a babysitter, therefore you are not a burden. Some of these recruits are burdens though." She grumbled and then tapped his leg. "Alright, either take off your pants, roll up the leg, or change into something more comfortable."

Verse's face flushed more and he looked down, " I-is there.... one you'd rather me do?" He meat medically wise, but to some, it my come out another way.

"Doesn't matter to me. Whichever you'd prefer to do if fine with me, but you're the one who's going to be sitting through all of this." She replied with a shrug, unpreturbed.

"I-I'll just.... roll my pants up... damn, it's hot again." He took off the armor he slept in and his shirt, then bent and started rolling the leg up again.

Lilis looked at his chest while she waited for him to finish. She was fascinated that she could see some of his organs. She’d only seen organs a few time before when she’d disemboweled some of her targets.

Verse sat in his chair and propped his leg up, "In advance, thanks."

She smiled and flipped out a dagger. “No problem.” She said as she began to pry up a section before moving onto the next. Lilis hated to work slowly, but she had to be careful.

Verse growled, gripping the chair as the hooks tore off chunkcs of his flesh. He bent his head back, then yelled out.

Lilis kept a straight face. She didn’t like it much better, but she knew pain very well. She moved on to get more of the trap out, but tried to cause less damage this time. She didn’t want to cause Verse much more pain.

Verse's head laid back, limp. The blood loss and the pain making his head spin and his blood pound in his ears.

Lilis let out a sigh of relief when he… passed out. Now she wasn’t going to spare him for pain. He was out so he wouldn’t consciously notice it. It took several minutes, but she got it and pulled it out. She sighed again and sagged. She walked back to her office and found a skin of water and a cloth. She went back to Verse and began to clean the wound.

Verse slumped against the chair, his body slipping off a little.

Lilis looked at him and then at the mess on the floor. She muttered something and went to get bandages from another compartment in her desk. She didn't feel like using her magic on him, so she smeared medicine over his leg and wrapped a bandage over it. The injury would be healed in about six to eight hours. Lilis wasn’t worried though. She wiped her hands off and then got to her knees to scrub the floor.
