Jotie was just sitting on his throne, listening to boring lectures, until a call was heared. "Your majesty!" A peasent ran quickly torwards into the throne. "Your majesty! There has been an increase of the undead horde... Someting... someone is making them appear at night. They even roam around during the daytime also, which is out of hand! We already have taken out several stay zombies and walking skeletons that came too close to the unprotected homes. What shall we do?"
Jotie was suprised about this. "This is necromancy... someone is up to this, stirring the undead."
"We already lost several children on this matter! Please help us!"
"Okay... Just calm down. I'm just new to this information... It's too late for the children... *sighs* But we need to take what is happening now." Jotie then magically made a parchment appear and starting to write down something on the paper.
It said, To the guards. An order of increase of guards at once to the unguarded area. people that wants to live in the quarters of the palace walls will have to pay a fine of 100 gold peices per person, not including children under the age of 10. Those who wants to live and be guarded will have to pay 500 gold per guard at the guild to guard their house. The guards will be fed at your home an transport of food will be decreased for those that lives in the outer walls of the castle. Those who plan to stay inside the walls will have an increase of food, for protection of transport that gets imported in may come across trouble.
Jotie lifted his head and looked around. "I need to give this to the warrior leader and then I will decide what next will happen."

Lilis had tightly wrapped herself in black cloth and put on a thick layer of pastes on any skin that showed. She didn't want to get even slightly burned as she went running around in the daylight. Lilis leapt onto a window frame that was in the palace, blocking the sunlight only for a moment before she dropped down. She hoped that she would go unnoticed, but that was highly unlikely. And it wasn't like she was trying to go unnoticed either. Lilis merged with the shadows until she stepped out into the light of the throne room, only about thirty feet from where Jotie was sitting.
"Hello." Lilis said, her voice was muffled by the three layers of cloth wrapped around her face and head, excluding her eyes which the paste was around. "Having problems with the dead? Because I'd like to help."

Jotie quickly turned his head and couldn't tell who it was, because of all the cloth. "Oh umm... Well, yes." He noticed that the person is a vampire, so he then decided. "We have been running a problem with all these undeads. If you could, could you find the person who is causing the creatures to spawn? I'll give you ten thousand gold peices finding the person." He then took out another parchment and tossed it over to her, which was tied down with a string. "And that parchment allows you to search everywhere undisturbed under the king's rule. Just don't use it for the wrong side now."
Jotie then sighed and rubbed his head. I don't know why I trust this character, but something about this person tells me I could trust. He thought to himself. "Is there anymore you need? Before your off to your mission?"

Lilis smirked under her hood and a purple, three-taloned hand caught the scroll. A gasp ran through the throne room as a seventeen and a half foot tall demon appeared behind Lilis. She rolled her eyes and ignored Dev, the demon had decided to come and keep her company (if only to cause a commotion).
"Would you like me to bring the person causing this trouble back to you alive, kicking, and scream? Or in a million little pieces?" Lilis asked Jotie as Dev snorted, handing her the scroll. Lilis waved a hand impatiently and made it disappear. "And I'm not doing this for the pay, there are other jobs that could pay more than this but I'm only looking for something fun to do."
~Don't you ever get enough fun? ~ Dev asked Lilis.
"I have eternity to live Dev, just like you. How much fun do you have?"
~ I don't! ~ The demon replied with amusement and cackled, a dreadful sound like grinding metal and crunching bones.
"Go away! Come back when you're going to be helpful!" Lilis snapped at Dev, turning to face the demon.
Dev bowed low to her, grinned evilly, and disappeared. Lilis grumbled for a few minutes and turned a dark purple glare on Jotie.

Maybe I thought too... soon about this. She does seem to be part of some sort of dark ages, but I must trust this person. He closed his eyes and sighed through his nose. "But my offer rises one thousand gold each passing week. I want what is best to rid this curse. Anyways..." He then changed his tone as he turned around and briskly walked to his throne. "I would like to see the culprit. And if this person whom is doing this doesn't want to follow... Cut his head off and bring the head to me, to prove you killed the monster. However, if you happen to break every peice of him, you might as well take me to where you last killed it."
He then smiled and turned around. "And you have a companion that will follow you and aid you as you go. It's my sister, Krystal Tamaro. She's Zuki's replacement ever since he runs his own kingdom."
Krystal heard her name being mentioned as she was walking, holding a batch of grapes and was wondering who called her. She then noticed a a big creature thing walk past her as she headed the way. She then shrugged and continued to the throne room and stopped to see what was going on.
"Aah, there she is. Good timing, Krystal." He said with a smile. Krystal crossed her arms and held the grapes below her waist.
"Oh, what you want, my brother?" She said with a smile.
"Go with this cloaked person. You have to follow her to see that she completed her mission."
Krystal tilted her head just like a fox was when curious. "You mean to tell me that I'm running a first errand?" Jotie only nodded his head with a smirk. "Well, okay then! That means I get to know this person more!" She quickly ran up and held out her free hand to shake hers. "Hi! I'm Krystal Tamaro, one of the famous blue fox anthros and a wonderful bard. Pleasure to meet you!"

Lilis pulled down her face coverings and bared her fangs at Krystal. "Don't touch me and don't talk to me! I don't need your help." She told her and fixed the coverings. She then turned to give Jotie a venomous glare. "I will bring you my quarry back alive then and you don't have to raise the pay for every week I spend looking."
Lilis then turned and walked away. She didn't care if Krystal was behind her or not (she didn't even want to her to come). Lilis pushed the guards out of her way when they tried to block her exit. She snarled at them and strode, far more boldly than any vampire should, into the daylight.

Jotie shook her head and sat down. "Oh Ra. Am I doing the right thing?" He said to no one, exept to himself.
Krystal followed and was still ranting along. "Well, anyways it's nice to meet you. It's a glorious time to go wherever! We get to see things we normally don't see and everything! Don't mind me, but I won't fight for you, only observe your every move. Sorry that I can't help. But I don't think you will mind. I won't be much of a burden for you. Only some partner to talk to." She acted like she didn't even been threatened by the hissing of the vampire.

(*interested* Her? Since when did Jotie suddenly change sexes? *laughs* I'm only teasing, I've made the same mistake before.)
Lilis pivoted about on her foot so that she was now facing Krystal. "If you can be silent... I would suggest you do so. My mission is to bring a rat back before your brother, alive. I won't catch him if I'm talking to you or you are yattering about something stupid." Lilis turned around again and started towards the stables. "Now I have to bring horses."
Lilis grumbled and stroked Kara's scales. She didn't like having to bring Krystal along. The girl talked too much and she was already beginning to feel like dead weight to Lilis. Dev stood just inside the stables, a smaller demon stood beside him.
"Ek-k-ket!" Lilis said and bowed to the demon who was only half her height.
"Ek-k-ket." The smaller demon replied, also bowing.
"Does Eket have something for me Dev?" ~ He has two very good riding horses and a scrawny pack horse for you. ~
Lilis bowed even lower to Eket this time. "Ek-ket!"
The small demon grinned and nodded to Lilis. He was pleased to be paying off some of his debt to her. Eket said something quickly and two tall black stallions stepped forward. A shaggy, brown horse, who was much smaller than the other two horses, came forward too. Lilis greeted the stallions first and then patted the little pack horse on his head.
"Krystal, only pack what you will need and stow it on the brown. I'm leaving tonight a mid-night." Lilis said led one of the black stallions out of the stables. "You will ride the other black and no, I will not let you take your other form and run alongside or something. You will ride or I will leave you behind. Understand?"

(DOH!!! *grumbles*)
Krystal wasn't too fond with demons and she didn't understand one word they said, whatever the 'Ek-k-ket' means anyways. She understood, though about riding the horse. "Well, might as well ride a horse. It's been a while since I ridden a horse. I rode a unicorn before!" She then exclaimed as she walked over to the other black horse and petted the horse. She rested her head against the neck of the horse and showed much kindness. "Oh, you are so beautiful." She said to the horse.
