Airen carried two bags of scrolls, posters, and then just paper through the palace on her way to either the Gardens or the Throne Room. She'd just left the Records Room with her multitudinous copies of the laws and pictures from Jotie and Kitsu's wedding. She was a little behind on getting them to Jotie, but she didn't think he'd mind too much. She'd spent the extra time adding details and making sure that everything was correct. Ekirth, a blue fire dragon that Airen had made, flew around her. He performed all kinds of aeiral acrobatics and almost made Airen drop her papers. As it went, Airen did set one bag down and snapped her fingers imperiously at Ekirth.
That is enough! Be helpful or go away! She told the dragon before picking up her bag again. Ekirth landed on her shoulder and didn't cause anymore trouble.

Torak looked down, and picked up a piece of paper that had floated around the corner from the bag Airen had placed down. Apparently, a maid had brushed by, knockijng it out of place. He read the title, and sighed.
Kyrean isn't going to like this...
He thought to himself, his eyebrows furrowing. He looked around the corner, around everyone in the palace.
"Hey, anybody lose this? Also, there's something about it...and...well...it's not accurate anymore..."
A few maids looked up from their work and shook their heads at Torak. He sighed, and leaned against the wall, looking around and waiting for someone to claim the paper.

Airen looked back at the paper and squinted. Ekirth glided over to land on Torak's arm.
That's mine... Airen said and walked up to him. Or rather, it's King Jotie's. Most of these papers are for him... but I am taking some outside. Ekirth wants to practice targeting.

"Well, you may want to use them all for targeting, or to help with the firewood."
Torak replied, holding the paper out for her.
"For Kitsu left Jotie, and he married The Princess of Crysos; Kyrean. And if she found them, there would be fire from hell everywhere. Trust me on that."
A maid brushed by him, sweeping the floor, and knocked his gun of it's haulter. It hit the floor, and because of the shock, it fired. Torak looked down at it, holding his robotic arm.
"Damn. Thought I fixed that shock firing system. Guess not..."
There was a large indent in his hand, and he had lost most control of it, except for the elbow and shoulder. He picked it up with his other hand, putting it in the haulter in his shirt.

Airen scowled and took the picture. I can't help that. She retorted. And I'm not allowed to alter records.
She was stuffing the paper into one of her various pockets when his gun went off. Airen jumped in surprise and then glared at him. But then she was quickly going through her papers to find the other pictures.
She's not the only who can play with fire. Airen mumbled and set the hem of the maid's clothes on fire. Next time watch out for my papers! It takes forever to organize them properly and STAY OUT OF THE RECORDS ROOMS!!!
Airen hated the maids. Always trying to clean or organize something that didn't need it. If she found any of them in any of the Records Rooms, she would set them on fire. Ekirth watched his creator avidly. She was sometimes funny when she got angry, but not when it involved fire. The little dragon looked at Torak now, having lost interest in Airen.

Torak shrugged.
"Suit yourself. Just when you have a ravage dragoness chasing you, don't say I didn't warn you."
He watched Airen, his robotic hand limp at his side.
"Oh yea, and another hint to keep the maids away from you. Do as I do; tell them that you'll rip their throat out and feed it to some creature. They'll stay away after that, trust me."

Why do that? Airen asked him peevishly with a black scowl. It's more fun to burn them. And Ekirth likes making them scream.
The little dragon flew to Airen's shoulder and rubbed his head against her cheek. She rubbed his head absently while looking down at the papers she had.
I didn't say I wouldn't do anything about I just said that I wouldn't alter what was already there. History can be added to, it just can't be changed. That is its purpose. She told Torak with a shake of her head. I'm Airen, by the way. I'm a scribe, if you hadn't guessed. So who are you? She asked, holding out a hand and trying to be polite.

Torak shrugged.
"History is already written in stone. But if you must record that, you must. Oh, and, I'm Torak."
He said, glad his left hand was the robotic one. He shook her hand, then shrugged.
"I'm Torak. No real job. I have money, yea, but I just keep myself preoccupied with dealing with the men who are drunk and give Kestal a bad name. And, before you ask, I'm not a playboy. Heck, I never even kissed a girl."
Torak watched her dragon, thinking of something else to say. He opened his mouth, but figured he was talking to much again, so he closed his mouth again.

That's fascinating, I'm sure. And I never assumed you were a playboy. If it's any consolation, I've never kissed a boy... guy... whatever. I've threatened to barbeque them though. Airen drawled and brushed Ekirth off of her shoulder. The dragon blew fire at her and glided out a window. Well, did you have something else you wanted to say? People don't just open and close their mouths because they want to.

"Nevermind, it's something stupid."
Torak replied, looking to the window that Ekirth flew out of.
"Oh yes, I do have one thing. Do you know where to get lizard skin? I've been in all the shops in Crysos and Kestal, and no one sells them. I need them for a vial I'm making."

Airen quirked an eyebrow at him. Any particular kind of lizard skin? If you're looking for something of a more magical content you should try some of the magic shops, if you haven't already.
Airen scowled down at the floor. She thought about all of the places in town to buy ingredients for potions and what-not. If none of the day-time markets or stores sold what he was looking for, maybe it was something he would find in an underground market.
But if it a sort of skin hard to come by, there are a couple of underground markets that you could probably try. She told him, looking up at him. There is one inside of Kestal and one near the mountains, in the wilderness, but I'm not sure if there is one in Crysos. I don't visit that kingdom much.

"Already tried magic shops. And, yea, I'll try and Underground Market, hadn't thought of that."
Torak became deep in thought, wondering what oddities he'd find at the markets; if not just a lizard skin.
"And If I can't find anything there, I'll head to the dragon lands. I doubt they'd want metal for a snack."
He chuckled.

Who says a dragon wouldn't just try to melt you instead? That would take care of the metal problem. Airen replied sensibly. What kind of skin are you looking for, exactly?

"A poison lizard skin, very rare. I need it for the blind and deaf woman. I'm giving her a vial that'll let her both see and hear again. I'm able to convert the poison to a medicene."
Torak shrugged.
"And if they melt me, no one would miss me."

You could be surprised, I'm sure. She drawled and folded her arms. In fact, I'll surprise you. I would miss you. No one besides Jotie and Bluu talk to me. I like intelligent people. You are intelligent.

Torak seemed a bit of both surprised and shock. He raised one of his eyebrows, and crossed his arms.
"You're just saying that so I won't get myself killed. And I'm smart, yes, but I don't like to be at times. And, just be glad I don't blurt out random facts like I used to. Habits die hard, but I managed that one."

Airen raised an eyebrow at him and gave him a calculating look. I don't just say anything. I say it and I mean it. I don't suppose you know how few people I can have a fairly intelligent conversation with?

Torak chuckled again.
"Trust me, I know. The intelligence level of Kestal has gone down in the past few years, and the crime rate up due to the fact that people are thinking they can't do anything but steal. The jail cells, at this rate, are going to be packed with thieves in, say, about five years, more or less. Then Crysos has double the crime rate, but also a higher intelligence level, which states the fact Vampires, because how long they've lived, obviously know more, though, they happen to prefer to steal more..."

Yes, fascinating statistics. I'm not interested in crime... but I suppose it helps to know. Now, if you don't mind me asking... What are you or what happened to you? Airen asked, gesturing to his metal hand.

"Oh. This, well, it was sort of an accident. I've never been a fan of drunks getting women, right? Well, when I was using my gun to get a drunk away, I misaimed and hit a building that was due to come down. It came down on me, and my arm, was, well, crushed, along with most of my body. I had to rebuild myself, and, I did. It was painful, but hey, it's better than girl's asking to repay their hero. They get one look at me without my shirt, and, well, they never look at me again."
Torak held up his metal arm, and pulled some steel out of his pocket. He then quickly twisted it on after reconnecting the wires. He twisted his arm as he regained control.
"There, that's better."

Airen raised her eyebrows and then sighed. Sorry doesn't help, but I feel I should say it. And it's a silly thing to change one's mind after seeing someone's body. It shouldn't matter... but then again, I suppose that only works if it's real love.
Ekirth came back and landed on Airen's shoulder. He nibbled on her hair and she pushed him away.
I'm late, but perhaps we can talk again, yes? I'd really enjoy. No one talks to me except for Bluu and Jotie, but I don't see them much.

Torak nodded, and bowed.
"I hope to see you again soon. Oh, yes, and just so you know. Sorry may not help, but it eases the burden on a heart. And I never was a fan of one-night stands, anyway."
He raised himself once more, then started off. He then stopped.
"If you ever want to chat but can't find me, look around town. Trust me, I'll be there if not here."
