It was a slightly busy day in the Square. Many people were out chatting, playing, etc. The weather was nice, so that could have been one reason that they were so many residents about on this fine day. The skies were clear blue with very few clouds in the air. The bright sun also lingered in the western parts of the sky. The time was probably around six o'clock in the afternoon.
The one thing that mainly seemed to be attracting quite a bit of attraction was in the center of the activity area. There was a preforming magician. There was a crowd of mostly young children watching as the magician preformed many magic tricks.
Amber was watching the magician from an alley way. She really wanted to go over and sit with the other children, but did not want to leave Indigo. The little ten-year-old girl turned her head to look over at the twelve-year-old-boy who lay sound asleep. Amber did not want to wake him because it would be silly. She had thought of leaving and coming back before Indigo woke, but she would feel too guilty. Amber knew how worried Indigo was about her. Besides, what if he woke up and she was gone?
She turned her head and watched from the distance. Her body was hidden behind in the shadows, so no one could really tell she was watching. No one would probably even notice that there were two orphans hanging in the alley way.
Amber looked back at Indigo once more. She was mentally debating in her head on what to do. Amber did this for several moments before she finally made up her mind. She would go out for a very short few minutes and just get a close up look at the magician. She wanted so badly to sit with some of the other children. If Indigo did wake up, maybe he would understand. Hopefully, he would not though.
The little girl timidly walked out of the alley way. Her appearance looked very dull compared to the vibrantly colored world around her. She did not take much notice to this and slowly made her way through the crowd and over where many children sat. Amber sat down with her legs crossed near some of the other children. Amber noticed that she in a way stood out though. Amber's beaten appearance compared to many of the other childrten...Amber felt rather trashy. She tried to forget about it.
She only watched the magician as he pulled a rabbit out of his hat. Amber was amazed. Even if this magician was only an illusionist, it was still a very strange and wonderful thing to watch.

As he came down a street leading to the square, a violet skinned elf got several looks of disgust. He ignored them as best he could, but his soft heart panged with pain with each child tugged away from him. Why do they treat me like this? He glanced around with silver eyes, vibrant and full of questions. Usually, they'd be related to nature or ones he would ask of the trees and plants instead of questions of why he was treated so. See, Bearh was a young Druid, he was able to talk to the plants and trees of the forests. Currently, he came into this town to buy some seeds for a tree that asked to be surrounded by flowers. Wanting to grant her wish, he looked for a florist that sold flower seeds.
The druid wore robes of a light tan color, sleeveless and and reached his booted feet, the belt was embroidered with leaves. He bore a black cloak that draped over his shoulders and covered his body, clasped by a leaf broach. He tried to block his skin from view, but, the hood was too small and it wouldn't look good over his ridiculously long ears. He sighed deeply, then perked at the sound of the children's praises and cheers from the magic show. He stopped and watched from the outskirts of the crowd.
His smile faded as he sensed some one behind him and he looked back to the alley that the little girl was just in. He frowned at the figure of a sleeping boy and he walked up to see if he was hurt.

Every few minutes, Amber would glance back at the alley to check if Indigo was waking up or not. So far he seemed to really be out like a light. Amber was not surprised though. The previous night Indigo had not once slept. Amber had asked him why, but Indigo just said for her not to think about it.
Amber had not seen the figure approaching the alley way at first. She had turned back to the show. Every time the magician played a trick she was always amazed greatly. She wondered if maybe someday she would be able to learn such marvelous tricks.
Meanwhile, Indigo had remained asleep. He stirred slightly as he began to regain his consciousness. Bright aqua-colored eyes opened. He rubbed them slightly and yawned. He was still drowsy because of what had taken place the night before. 'Still no luck...'He thought to himself. OH well, he would keep looking until he found what he was looking for.
"Amber, you sleep ok...?"Indigo's voice trailed off. He looked around. He did not see his little sister anywhere. Fear and panic emerged within him. Where was Amber? What if something terrible happened to her?
Indigo then noticed a figure in the alley as well. Not a human, but some sort of elf or druid probably. Immediately, Indigo assumed the young man had taken Amber or something. "What'd you do to my sister!?"He said as he accused the man.

"Easy easy!" Bearh threw his hands up. His silver eyes were wide with surprise, "I didn't do anything to her, you were the only one in here when I came. I was just making sure you weren't hurt, you look like you were. Are you?" He stepped back.

Indigo calmed down slightly, as in he did not calm down as much. For one, the strange man could always be lying to him. Indigo had learned you had to be careful about who you trust when living on the streets. And if the man had not taken Amber, where was Indigo's sister? How long had she been gone?
Indigo only ignored the man's question on if he was injured or not. He was perfectly fine, at least Indigo thought he, himself, was. He only looked up at the man. "Well, maybe you saw her!? She has really light brown, almost blond, hair, fair skin, blue eyes, is shorter then me and wearing a grey dress!"He said naming various physical features on her.
Amber had faintly heard a familiar yell in the background of the cheering children. She realized it must have been Indigo. 'Uh-Oh...he'll be so upset!'She nervously thought to herself. Amber rarely, actually never snuck away from Indigo. She was a bit scarred of how he would react to this.
She got up from the ground and ran back to the alley way as she ignored the sharp pain in her feet. If that was not bad enough, her lungs were already burning. Always being so ill and weak was not something Amber was happy about. It got very annoying really.
Amber came to the alley way and saw a strange man there with her brother. She saw how worried Indigo looked and a rush of guilt spread over her. She felt horrible and just wanted to sink away into nothing. She could not and would not do so. Instead she timidly spoke, "I'm here...Indigo...." Her voice was no more then a whisper as a result of the pain in her throat and her was looking toward the ground.
Indigo was automatically relieved as he heard the faint voice of his sister. Ignoring the man that was there, he ran over to her and hugged her like she had been gone forever. "Damn it! I thought something bad happened to you!"He said. He seemed angry but was only concerned greatly for Amber.

The druid looked back and smiled weakly at the girl, glad the heat was off him and that she was alright. He frowned, a little mad that the boy was yelling and saddened at the look of the girl. She seemed to look ill and weak. Bearh looked between the two, "Are either of you hurt or ill?"

Hearing the young man speak, Amber only shook her head. "We're ok."She said, half-lying. She was of course no where near ok being as sick as she was, and Indigo was not exactly in the best shape either. He was much healthier then Amber though. Amber only smiled at the man acting as if everything was great. "Thanks for your concern through."She said softly.
Indigo's eyes shot over near his sister. "I doubt it.."He muttered so only Amber could hear. He was not trying to be cruel, he just did not really think that the man would give a care at all about them. It was not like anyone else did.
Amber shot her brother back a look. "Could you...please not start anything?"She asked in a very meek and innocent voice. Her large eyes held a hopeful and at the same time saddening look to them. In a way Amber was doing this on purpose because she knew it was a weak point for Indigo.
Indigo gave out a frustrated sigh. "Fine..."He said. He never could get over how his sister could pull that look off...

Bearh frowned and looked back to the alley. He stared for a while before looking to the children again, "Do you live here? This place is awful... how about I buy you two lunch or something?" He offered, trying to be nice.

Indigo shrugged his shoulders at what the man said. "It's not that bad staying here..."He muttered. "Once you..get use to the smell and everything..."He said. Truth was Indigo really did not like having to live out on the streets. It was difficult to get around and there had been several incidents where Indigo and Amber were basically attacked by some weirdos, which was pretty scary since they were so much stronger then the weak siblings.
Amber looked at her brother with a strange look. It was obvious he did not mean what he said, but Indigo acted that way around strangers. She looked down for a few seconds, but looked back up when the tall man spoke. Her eyes widened slightly. It was a really generous offer, since not many people would actually offer anything at all to a couple of homeless children. "Really? That would be wonderful, sir!"She perked up. There was a small smile on her face.
Though usually Indigo would have ignored any stranger and usually anything they said, this time he did not. One, he and Amber had not eaten anything in...a while really. If they did eat anything it would usually be scraps, and if they were lucky Indigo could steal...something eatable. He only shrugged his shoulders. "I don't care..."He muttered.

Bearh smiled, all too happy to help. He set his staff under his arm and clapped his hands together, then rubbed them as he looked between the two children, "Well then, what would you like?"

Amber thought for a few seconds. She really did not mind what it was since basically anything was better then garbage scraps. Really,Amber was almost positive dog food would taste better(Not that she had ever eaten dog food, but she thought it would). She shrugged her shoulders. "Anything is fine!"She said still smiling a very bright one.
Indigo let out a frustrated sigh. It was the type of sigh you would rarely if ever hear a young one sigh. But, being an older sibling could do that to you, especially in Indigo's condition. A lot of times he would have to act older then he really is and that seemed to just steal away his youth from him. Indigo was very much aware Amber did not like that as much. She sometimes thought Indigo should be more childish and have fun.
"It really doesn't matter to me.."He responded in the same tone in which he answered the other question. No, he wasn't one with words when it came to new people.

Bearh frowned and set his hands on his hips, "Aw, c'mon you two. Isn't there something you've wanted to eat? Like, a cake, cookies, steak, anything?" He looked worried to the two, didn't they have goals?
