Burris nodded, "I guess... that makes sense... I suppose. You say you're happy like this, how come?"

Kaie growled. I’d never be allowed to leave the Nether Realms once I separated from Lilis. Plus the separation would kill her. If I do leave her one day, I want to do it in a way that won’t destroy her or leave her weakened. Lilis allows me to see the world and lets me feed when she may be overwhelmed by enemies. I allow her to feed in return by keeping the bodies alive so that she may feed on them as well. We work well as a team, but than most normal mortals do.

He shook his head, "Mortals are stupid, it's the immortal who are the smart ones. Humans always fear the powerful... so they try to kill immortals before they kill the mortals."

That is because immortals live for such a long time that they know and understand more. Kaie responded and shook her head. And power has nothing to do with it. Some creatures are extremely long lived and no special traits beyond better than average hearing or eyesight. Minor stuff. So where do you fit into this scheme? What did you do to become an outcast?
(Bye again. They want me to go to bed.)

"I have no idea. I'm a vampire, yet, I'm they're enemy. Trolls are one of Zuki's enemies, or, so I have been told." He sighed deeply.

Neither Lilis nor I have heard that, but we’ve been very busy. She hasn’t rested in three weeks and she hasn’t fed in a week. She’s been busy training recruits and babies and doing paperwork. It’s a lucky thing that she still has her network in place otherwise she’d do palace rounds and hover near Zuki and Karita and she’d go crazy trying to keep up with the rest of the family. Kaie nodded. Yes, it’s very good that she still has her network around her.

He nodded slowly, showing he was listening. He yawned deeply and looked over to the tent with his son and her, hoping she wasn't hurting him. Burris's eyes went back to the fire and he poked it with a stick.

They are resting. Kaie said, noticing that he looked toward the tent. We will leave as soon as she wakes. Lilis will be ravenous. Your son should only have broth and maybe have soup tomorrow. The demon shrugged. Depends on what Lilis tells you and how he feels.

"Alrighty... thanks a lot, by the way. Ryhe may not show it and John may be too sick to say, but we're grateful. I don't know what I'd do if I lost John." He smiled.

Your gratitude is noted. Lilis misses her own children and has often wished for more, but she has some pretty strong morals. Kaie growled, looking glum. We've fought about that before... She won.

Burris stared, "She has children?" His longs legs crossed as he became interested in this. "Is she even married?"

She was married once, a little more than two hundred years ago. Her children are either grown or dead. Constantine and Ambrose appear to be the only two of her offspring alive, though Constantine is a vampire.

"I'm sorry." Burris stirred the soup. "I can't really say much, I haven't lost a lover nor a child. What happened to him?" He looked at the demon.

What happened to who? Her husband? Or one of her sons? Kaie asked, cocking her head in confusion.

"All of them, how did they die?" Burris leaned to her a bit.

Her husband and her other children died from old age and other mortal complications. Ambrose is apparently doing fine, as a Slayer and has given up his quest to kill his own mother because of what she became. Constantine just left with another guard from Crysos and her network to go off on more adventures. Kaie shrugged. Constantine and Ambrose are the only two of her family to still be alive and it makes her very happy to see her sons.

He poked the fire more and messed with the soup, " Has she thought about re-marrying?"

Yes, but she has no time to look for a new mate and it is hard for her to attract one. Tell me how many males would be attracted to a Vampiress who carries a Demon Heiress, works for the King of Renor Crysos, was a former mercenary, and rather enjoys killing and torturing. Kaie shook her head at him. It is hard for her to even take time to feed and rest.

Burris grinned as he put some herbs in the brew, "Ryhe's got a few connections with some young male vampires who are as such. Met a few before they tried to kill me, nice fellows."

How young are they? She won't tolerate them if they're younger than she is. The demon replied with a shake of her head. Lilis particular that way too.

"Hmmm, they seem young. How old is she?" He added some vegtables and thyme to the stew.

Close to 250, though not quite there yet. If they're about that age or older, they should be fine... Unless she decides to hate them on sight. She replied with a shrug.
(Bye now! *sad*)

Burris thought, " There was one around that age... oh, what was his name. Ven, Val... VERSE! That was it. The only one who didn't kill me on site. I wasn't till I tried to kill him." The troll chuckled.
(See ya)

You could try to arrange a meeting between them, but it is unlikely to occur. Lilis would have to be forced from her work or found in a break. Kaie said, finding it a little fun to play match-maker for her host. Unless he'd like to show up and somehow get her away from her work, without upsetting her. Lilis can be quite irritable sometimes.

"Alrighty, but... you'd have to talk to Ryhe about that. I think Verse'll remember..." Burris lifted a sleeve and revealed a gash scar on his upper arm. He laughed and put it down again.
