The horse nodded as he slowed at the forest, not wanting to run into anything. He trotted when he reached the oak, looking up at it.

Nel looked up too. Her home was at least forty feet above their heads. “I have a feeling this will be a struggle.” She muttered to herself and stood, hooking her arms under his and clasped them over his chest.
She flapped her wings hard rose some. Nel growled and flapped harder than before, shifting her weight to rise more easily. After several minutes, Nel made it to the landing and collapsed there, careful of Daae. One wing dangled over the edge and the other was stretched above her head.

Daae grunted at the impact and opened his eyes. His face was flushed a little as he sat up slowly, holding his head.

Nel sat up too a felt his face to see if he was feverish. She stood, tugging on his arm again. “’Mon bucko. I’ll help you to bed.” She said and thought of the down mattress. It had taken her weeks to collect it all, but it was well worth it. She liked her hammock too.

He grunted and stood, following. He had a small fever, nothing to worry about.

Nel guided him to her bed and helped him lie down. She tugged his boots off and pulled a light blanket over him. She looked down at him for a minute before grabbing a bucket of apples and a brush before going back down to Aser. She set the bucket in front of him and pulled off the saddle and blanket. She hugged him.
“Thank you, you’re amazing. And I brought your apples, like I promised.” She told him and began to brush him down.

Daae imeaditally fell asleep.
Aser nickered happily and dove his head in, massacaring the apples. He lifted his head, "Thankie!" The dove in again, making an apple mess.

Nel chuckled and continued to brush his coat. "Where do you want to stay? There is a herd of wild horses just up the river and there is a cave near-by that I can put you in if you'd rather stay close." She offered and waited for his response.

“Okay Aser. I’ll get you a blanket and set you up in the cave for the night.” Nel said with a small smile. “If something happens to Daae, I’ll let you know.”

“I don’t need payment.” Nel told him and rubbed his head. She hugged him then. “But friends are nice to have.”

He made a purring like noise, "We'd be honored! Daae needed a woman friend!"

Nel blushed. “Well... anyway I can help…” She said slowly and then chuckled. “I’ll show you an apple grove tomorrow and you can get your own apples. I’ll get your blanket now.” She flew up and picked a blanket up from the landing. She settled it over Aser and then rubbed his forelock. “Okay, I’ll show you the cave now.”

"Okays!" He hopped lightly, like, getting off a few inches off the ground. He trotted around her, then waited.
