Torak sighed, and slowed, stopping a few slight feet away from her.
"Airen, I..."
He stopped, searching for words. Ryuu bit him once again, and he glared at the dragon.
"I know. Stop trying to pull my ear off.."
He muttered, before looking back at Airen.
"Listen. There's one thing I want in my life, just one. I thought I had the perfect life once, but, it's not. It's not without you. I'll go if you want me to, but, I don't want to be without you.."

Oh, so now you're talking for love this time? She teased, raising a brow with a wry smile.

Torak sighed, nodding.
"Yea, I am this time."
He said, not finding much amusement in her teasing. He was serious, and Ryuu adjusted his position on Torak's shoulder, deciding not to bit his ear anymore.

She smiled and shook her head. Now, what made that so difficult before?

"Because."
Torak replied, thinking a moment.
"I knew there was a girl out there, but, I just had to find her. And, I think I found her, unless she wants to keep looking for a guy herself."

Huh, I've never had nor taken the time to look. Airen replied and took a step closer to Torak. It's not going to be an easy love, you understand? You said yourself that you come home smelling of blood and death. Well, I work all day and sometimes all night. I work because that's all I know how to do.

Torak chuckled.
"Well, I take showers straight after. And, I'll help you off your working habit. Promise."

Airen chuckled. Then you obviously haven't seen me at work. You've got your work cut out for you on that mission. She told him. Speaking of which, I need to organize one of the old Archives and recopy disintegrating or faded records.

Torak sighed.
"Alright. So I do. I can handle work. No problem. I...think."
He thought a moment, trying to figure out how to get Airen to take a break.

You want to come see how arduous my task is? Airen asked him, but was already planning to spend the next three days in isolation.

"It can't be that bad. Can it?"
Torak asked, Ryuu staring at her with his small eyes. They were both a bit confused.

Bad? It's terrible... You've never seen an Archive Room then. Airen sighed deeply. Well, come with me, I'll show you. She beckoned to him and walked off down the corridors.

Torak followed, and Ryuu stared at Airen. He chirped, and Torak laid his hand on his snout to shush him. Torak figured the room was going to be large, messy, and, well...messy.

Airen opened the door to one of the various Archive Rooms and scowled to see maids in the room. Dusting or not, they had no business to be messing about with her books, scrolls, and papers. That was her job. She growled and sent little fire arrows to chase them out.
Once all of the maids had left, Airen surveyed the damage. They'd left their garbage bags. That was good. She could see how many documents they were going to throw away. Other papers littered the floor and many of the other records, still in their places, looked to be falling apart. Airen walked up to the first garbage bag and began to look through the papers.

Torak wandered through the mess, and Ryuu looked around. To him, it was a heaven for food.
"Wow."
He said, his thoughts not being close. This place wasn't messy. It was a dump for history. He made sure not to step on any of the papers as he wandered through it.

Airen muttered to herself about putting locks on the doors. She looked up and saw Ryuu eying the documents. She stepped up and snapped her fingers.
Don't even dare to dream about it. She threatened the dragon. You can only burn it after I've recopied all of it. Got it?

Ryuu snorted, and Torak patted his head.
"I'll get you something later."
He said, before looking back at Airen, then down to all the papers around them.

Airen stepped back and spread her arms. In a week with little sleep or general rest, I can have a little more than half of this room completely recopied. To get the whole room recopied at the same pace... about a week and a half. It takes three weeks if I rest proper though. She told him and turned to dig through the bags again. That is how hard I work.

Torak nodded.
"Well, you do need a break, you know...you ca't work that much...can you?"
Ryuu stared at Airen again, still wnating the paper for his snack.

Evidently I can, because I do. Airen replied and pulled out a a clump of tied up papers. She hummed and leaned against the long worktable to read through the papers. I'm so glad I got here in time. Many of these document are irreplaceable.

Torak nodded, looking to the door.
"If you want a lock, I can make you one right now. It'll help keep he maids out..."
Ryuu nodded in agreement.

Airen looked up at Torak gratefully. You'd really do that? Right now?

Torak nodded.
"All I need is some steel, and I can start on one."
Ryuu nodded again.

Well, I don't have any and there might some in here that you can pull out of somewhere, but I doubt it. Airen said and looked at the papers again. Ooo! These are birth and death records! Yuck! They had a plague that year.

Torak nodded.
"Plague. Right."
He started rummaging through the closets and bookshelves, looking for steel. Ryuu reached for a piece of paper, but failed to grab it.
