Destroy my papers and documents, Airen threatened Ryuu without looking at him, and I'll turn y ou back into fire. Try the supply closet Torak. They kept a lot of spare junk in them.

Torak nodded.
"Thanks."
He kept Ryuu on his shoulder as he wandered to the closets. He shove everything around in them, trying to find a piece of metal.

A crate in a back corner of the closet held various kinds of metals and all in assorted shapes and sizes. If there was any scrap that contained steel, Torak was likely to find it in that crate or in the crate beside it, which also held scrap pieces of metal. Airen set the death and birth records aside to look for some other bit of history almost lost to the obsessive cleaning of the maids.

Torak then found the crates. He grinned, then pulled out all the steel he could find, before sitting down cross-legged, bending the steel to the sizes he needed. He was glad about his robotic arm now. He then twisted off one of his robotic finger tips, and blew on it, a small flame appearing. He used the flame to carefully join the steel together, making the lock slowly.

Airen pulled her head out of the bag and looked over at Torak. Since she'd never seen anyone make a lock before, she came over and watched him. She did have the habit of either melting locks away or picking them open.

Torak raised a finger on his hand, and a tiny, sharp blade came out. He shapened the hole for the key, then weilded the piece that would prevent one kind of key being able to be used with it. He blew on it to get the spare pieces out, then started on the key.

Airen watched quietly. She was dying to ask questions though. Maybe he wouldn’t mind answering a cascade of questions when he was done. Most people told her to shut up after the third or fifth question.

Torak checked the key shape, then inserted it in the lock, before grinning. He took the key out, then put a flap over the keyhole, before sealing the lock together.
"There, done. Put a flap over it that can only be opened with the key, to prevent picking."
He held it up, and Ryuu stared at it, tilting his head.

Airen looked at the lock, half-hearing Torak. How do I do this? How do I do this? I hope it won’t melt. She thought as she pulled on some gloves and carefully took the lock from him. Once it was in her hand, Airen inspected it more closely.
You didn’t put a mark on it. She said as she turned it over in her hands. How do you make them so quickly? It looks pretty complicated.

Torak held up the key, then pointed to the hole, then the hook on it.
"When you insert this, the key, into there, the keyhole, you twist it. Then, this, the hook will release, and allow you to open the door. To lock it again, just click it down."
He demenstrated, knowing Airen would get it now. Hopefully.

That wasn’t precisely my question, but thank you anyway. She said and copied what Torak had demonstrated to prove that she’d gotten it. How do you make them so fast? They look complicated.

"It doesn't take me long to do anything with steel, metal, springs, or anything around that."
Torak grinned, then stroked Ryuu on the head, remembering he had ignored him for a moment.

Do you think you could teach me a few things? I like to learn new things. It keeps me from getting too bored.

Torak nodded.
"Alright. What do you want to learn?"
He asked, smiling.

Well, everything. Airen replied logically. Or just what you want to teach me. Whichever is fine.

"Well, not knowing exactly what you want to learn is going to be tricky. Seeing as there's so much to learn. Hmm."
Torak became deep in thought, wondering what Airen could learn in a day or so.

I am willing to make time if you are as well. And this would help us to become better acquainted. Airen said, turning the lock over in her hands. I learn fast anyways, but I will be sure ask you if anything goes over my head. Do you concur?

Torak nodded.
"Alright. And, I have an idea on what I can teach you."
He flipped a small panel open on his arm, then pressed a few small buttons, the open it completely. The inner workings showed, the nerves he had saved from when his arm was cut off inside small tubes, and springs, metal hooks, and everything else was scattered in it.

Wow! How did get them to stay so perfectly preserved like that? I've never seen that done before, even with magic. Airen said with awe.

"The tubes preserve them. They are tight on my nerves, so no air gets to them. Thus, they do not rot."
Torak smiled.
"And everything else is a type of metal that won't rust."

Fascinating. Though I do suppose that is good considering your job application. She said and leaned in for a closer look. I kind of think something like that would hurt though. Nerves are the sensory receptors of pain, touch, etcetera.

Torak nodded.
"Yes, but I used a potion I had created to numb them. I did the same to Vincent and his daughter, Crei, when their lower arms were cut off."

So you’ve repeated the process. How complex is it to make a replica arm out of metals? Have you done anything other than arms? She asked and sat beside him and holding his hand so she could look at everything.

"Well, it takes a while to create the arm. And, I've also made legs, hips, ribs...anything with a bone, I've pretty much been able to replace."
He grinned smugly to himself, proud of all he could do.

How did you fix your arm with only one hand? I’m going to assume that you were in pain all the while too. Airen said, bending the fingers of his hand and then rotating his wrist. This is amazing Torak. How long did it take you to learn how to do this?
