Verse walked through the halls of the vampiric castle. He was given directions to Lilis's office, but he was lost once more. The burns around his mouth and his mouth itself as twisted in confusion as he walked around, a bottle of red liquid in his hand. He was utterly lost.

Lilis was just coming off of her rounds and returning to her office when a recruit told her that there was someone looking for her. She checked her office, no one there. She looked around and set out to search for this person. Five minutes later and several corridors over, Lilis found Verse. Her face was carefully blank as she looked at him from the end of the corridor.
“You’re looking a tad lost. Do you require assistance?” She asked politely, but stayed where she was.

He jumped and looked back, then smiled, " Hiya. I wanted to talk to you." He walked over slowly, offering the bottle to her, " A little 'sorry' for my fit at the bar." He grinned and stopped a ways before her.

Lilis blinked and raised her brows with evident surprise. She slowly took the bottle. “Thank you. But I must apologize myself. I didn’t mean to offend you.” She said carefully. “Would you prefer to talk to me in the privacy of my office? People know better than to eavesdrop on me there.”

VErse smiled gently and nodded, "If that's where you feel most comfortable, then we shall." He gestured, "After you, mi'lady." Ryhe had been giving him lessons.

“It’s the best way to keep secrets.” She mumbled, pivoting on her heel and heading back to her office at a brisk pace. “There’s something different about you. It’s strange.” She commented and glanced at him.

He raised a brow as he followed, "Oh, is there?" He grinned, trying to keep in a better mood.

“Yes, you weren’t like fresh hot fudge nice to me, you were kind of nice to me. I’ve had people hate me, not like me, not care one way or the other, be okay with me… but never nice to me. It’s strange.” Especially since I nearly just killed a recruit for extreme insubordination. She thought and shook her head once. “I’m sorry. How have you been?”

His smiled weakened, trying not to scare her. He nodded gently. "I've been getting along, you?"

“Boring,” she replied blandly. “I could do with a few less idiots too. My office is a mess too, but I can’t help that much. I get at least three new stacks of paperwork a day and by stacks I mean more like mountains. So I’ll apologize in advance for the mayhem of my office.”

"Don't worry, it's not right to judge one by the mayhem their rooms are." He smiled, keeping behind her as he stared around the castle.

“Ha! Too bad other people don’t share your sentiments. They think I’m a slob and then I fight them in a court. I force them to revise their attitude towards me. Although I’m sure Lord Chaos would be more than proud Apocalypse would just grunt approval or something.” She said and turned a fourth corridor and stopped at a door in the middle of the hallway. She opened the door and held it open for Verse.

Verse nodded a thanks and stepped in, looking around. "Aw, it's not... that...bad..." He blinked around the room.

Lilis snorted and closed the door behind her before moving to her desk. She noted the new stacks of reports piled haphazardly by her chair. She hmmed and bent to straighten them.
“Have seat,” she said, indicating the only other open chair in the room. “It’s not comfortable, but mine isn’t either. I don’t think they’re meant to be comfortable though.”
Lilis straightened, holding one of the new stacks in her arm before depositing it near the others that lined the room and formed various islands in it. She hmmed again and looked at her desk. She cleared away a few piles so that it wouldn’t seem as though she were hiding behind the papers. Once there was a window through which to see Verse, Lilis sat in her chair with an inward groan.

He grinned as he looked at the various islands, "You must give me the name of yer decorator." He tried a joke.

Lilis scowled. “Me is the decorator… but everything is donated, rather generously, throughout the day.” She sat up and leaned over her desk to finish her summary from the report she’d been working on before she left. “Is there something you wanted to talk about? This is the perfect place to do it and I’m listening.”

"I wanted to visit ya, that's all. Mebbe share a drink and get to know each other better." He smiled, his fangs gleaming.

She paused in her work before continuing. “Oh… what would you like to know about me? I’m pretty routine. I can usually be found in here, slaving over work. I leave for a routine walk through the courts and on the wall. I work through my exhaustion until Kaie forces me to leave, feed, and rest. I’m boring.”

"Not at all! You're a stunning woman and though, I know, work is more important, you have a great form and you should go show it off. Don't hide under cloaks, wear something slimming! Now, I haven't come to give you ciritisim... I wanna help." He walked over, setting a hand onto her's.

Lilis bristled at his words but when he touched her, she jumped. She dropped her pen and put her head in her hands.
“What kind of help?” She asked through gritted teeth, blinking rapidly. “My clothes are fine… they’ve been all I’ve had for about two hundred years… I never wore anything slimming or nice before I turned. I wore a pair of ragged pants and a thin, patched shirt and worked in a field, tending a crop.”

He frowned and let go at her jump, backing away, " S-s-orry..." He sat again, then shook his head, " I must be outta my mind.... I-I'm sorry to intrude." He stood and put the hood over his head, heading for the door.

“Don’t go, please.” She said and a purple haze formed around the doorframe. “It’s nice that you came to talk with me. It’s nice to have a visitor. Please stay a little while longer.”
(I gotta go now. Dishwasher’s done, so I have to get my shower now. Bya!)

“Not like some of the people around here,” she said. “If you act like you’re a baby and can’t help yourself… you’d make me apoplectic. It happens at least three times a day, whether or not I crawl out of my office to make sure everything is in order elsewhere.
“So I’ve already asked you what your favorite weapon is. Now I want to know how you learned to use them and who taught you, if anyone did.”

He looked at his hands, "My father did. Before..." His face went to stone for a moment, then he smiled, "He taught my younger brother and I how to defend ourselves when we were young. We came home from school one day and Daae was being picked on by some bigger boys. After dad taught us, Daae came back with bloody knuckles and a note from the teacher that he broke another kid's arm. Dad laugh , but mum hated the fact he took it so coolly." He laughed a little, then sighed deeply.
