Brothers Repose

[Kilian]

Somnus shrugged. "I can't always tell with Sol. There's been the handful of times when I thought he'd die and he'd turn out fine." He looked down at his hands and continued sadly. "There've been the times too, when I thought he'd be fine and he died instead."

[Ryhe]

Ryhe reached out and patted his shoulder, "Donna worry, buddy." He smiled and petted Sol's head, "He won't on our watch, right-o?" He smiled reassuringly.

[Kilian]

Somnus put his head in his hands and groaned. “I have no idea. I did watch him once. He'd destroyed a town, recovered from his various injuries so that he could continue to fight, and then healed me. He went to sleep afterwards..."

He paused and wiped his eyes. "I watched him. He was sleeping and his breathing started slowing down. I don't know what happened, but I remember waking up and he wasn't breathing anymore. I was only fifteen, I had no idea what to do. It wasn't like anyone would help us either."

Somnus sighed and lay back to look at the stars. He was quiet for a long time.

"I spent the rest of the night beside him, wondering what the hell I was gonna do with out my big brother. I fell asleep pondering that." He smiled then. "I woke up the next morning to the aroma of cooking food. That was the first time Sol revived himself. I still don't precisely know how he does it."

[Ryhe]

Ryhe sighed and continued to stroke Sol's fur, "He'll be alright. If he doesn't... I have a way of bringing him back without the gods." He smiled weakly and looked to Somus.

[Kilian]

"For now, it's best that he's sleeping. He can heal himself best then." Somnus said and put his hands behind his head. "Sol doesn't know his limits and he ignores them if he does."

[Ryhe]

"He's gonna wear himself out..." Ryhe looked worriedly to him with a sad look. He sighed deeply, worrying for the boy's life. He knew the cost to help him from death, half his heart. Ryhe smiled, he'd do it for him.

[Kilian]

"I don't know." Somnus said thoughtfully in disagreement. "Sol puts himself into states sometimes. He calls it a coma. He does that at night sometimes, when he really needs a rest."

[Ryhe]

Ryhe stopped and stared, "A coma? Poor lad..." He went back to petting Sol, Ryhe was no stranger to the day, weeks, months, years of the sleep coma can bring.

[Kilian]

~ So you're giving away all of my secrets then? ~ Sol asked Somnus and yawned.

Somnus cried excitedly and hugged his twin. Sol purred and shivered.

~ Okay, let go... That's starting to hurt. ~ Sol said, pushing his twin with a paw.

[Ryhe]

" Welcome back! Thanks again, lad." Ryhe chuckled and let go. "Feeling better?"

[Kilian]

Sol groaned, flattening his ears. ~ I still hurt and I'm still tired. But it's good that you're feeling better yourself. That means you get to babysit Somnus while go away for a while. ~

[Ryhe]

"Go away for a while? Wh-who?" Ryhe's brows rose. He dearly wished Sol didn't mean himself. He didn't mind watching Somus, but, the poor lad needed his brother.

[Kilian]

Somnus pouted at his twin. "You're gonna leave behind?"

Sol laughed and swatted at him. ~ Like I could! You'd just follow my tracks! I just need to heal for a little bit. ~ He said and looked at Ryhe. ~ It may take anywhere from a few hours to a few days. I'm not certain. You'll keep him out of trouble right? ~

[Ryhe]

"But do you really have to leave us, lad?" He sighed and looked at Somus. Remember when Tyler needed time alone...? Ryhe's ear lowered, "Well, you gotta do what ya gotta do."

[Kilian]

Sol stared at Ryhe and then laughed. ~ I'm not going to physical get up and go away! ~ He said, still laughing. ~ I'd be begging for death if I did that. ~

"You're gonna do that coma thing aren't you?" Somnus asked him sadly.

~ Well, yes. ~ Sol replied and looked confused. ~ It is the best way for me to heal myself. And I'm not going to be forever about it you know. ~

[Ryhe]

Ryhe sighed, "If it's the best way... I can put you in a guest room when we get home. Zye won't mind and we can easily keep an eye on you. How's that?" He smiled weakly.

[Kilian]

~ If that makes you feel better... ~ Sol replied with a nod and then a yawn.

Somnus felt like passing out with relief, but he caught a glare from his twin. He chuckled and lay back again.

[Ryhe]

Ryhe sighed, "Very well. Night buddy, we'll see ya in a while. Who knows? You may be an uncle when you wake up!" Ryhe chuckled.

[Kilian]

~ No, I wanna be awake for that. ~ Sol replied with a chuckle. ~ Som knows how to get me up if it looks like I'm gonna miss it. ~

Somnus looked surprised. "I do?"

Sol yawned and lay across the laps of both of his brothers. ~ Yes, get in trouble or get hurt. It's worked before... Try getting excited this time though, I don't wanna have to heal you as soon as I wake up. ~

[Ryhe]

" Bit of trouble, eh? Well, we'll figure it out." Ryhe turned his head to Som, " Right, laddie?"

[Kilian]

Somnus looked over at Ryhe, his brows raised and then shrugged. He poked his twin's ear. "Get up. You're heavy to carry, especially in that form."

Sol huffed and got up. He sat down beside his twin. There were huge patches of fur missing from his tiger form. Acid burns from the creature's blood were visible in the missing patches of fur. He got up again and waded into the water, submersing himself again.

[Ryhe]

Ryhe looked at Somus, "I could have carried him." He looked to Sol to see what he was doing, if he was hurting himself or not. He felt sad that Sol had to go into a coma, but, he needed to do what he had to.

[Kilian]

Somnus shook his head. "I doubt that he would've let either of us to pick him up."

~ That's correct. ~

"EVESDROPPER!!!"

Sol laughed. ~ No worse than you are! And Ryhe, please be careful of which metaphors you use in the future. ~

[Ryhe]

"Metaphors? How so lad?" Ryhe chuckled and hunched over as he sat. He yawned and stretched a bit, smiling to them.

[Kilian]

~ Excuse me, I need to quote you... It's all fun and games until somebody gets eaten by a river monster. Huh! You did that on purpose, didn't you? ~ Sol teased.
